The Alan Graham Memorial Lecture is the keynote presentation of the Irish Association for American Studies 2023 Annual Conference, hosted by University of Limerick and organised by Dr Tim Groenland, Dr David Coughlan, and Dr Clair Sheehan of the School of English, Irish, and Communication. This hybrid event takes place 17:30-19:00 on Friday 28 April in KBG13 in the Kemmy Business School, UL, and online. The IAAS and UL are delighted that this year's lecture will be delivered by Dr David Watson, Associate Professor in the Department of English at Uppsala University, and will be titled “The Security Fix: Literature, the State, and the Problem of Governance.” The event will be opened by Dr Catherine Gander of Maynooth University, Chair of the Irish Association for American Studies, and chaired by Prof. Margaret Mills Harper, Glucksman Chair in Contemporary Writing in English at UL.
