The next instalment of the Irish-German business lecture series with Liam Ryan, Managing Director of SAP Ireland will speak about ‘Irish-German business connections – the example of SAP’ on 22 March at 10am in LC1002, chaired by Professor Deirdre O'Loughlin (UL). All welcome!
Liam Ryan joined SAP in 1999 as manager for the Remote Service Delivery Team in Active Global Support. He was appointed Managing Director of the Service & Support Centre in Ireland the following year. He has overseen the growth of SAP’s operations in Ireland totalling 2,300 Employees in 55 Lines-of-Business in Dublin and Galway. Liam began his career in Germany working for Siemens in Amberg and Softlab AG in Munich. On returning to Ireland he worked as an Automation Engineer with APV and as Engineering Manager for Motorola before joining SAP. Liam serves on the National Skills Council and the National Training Fund Advisory Group. He is Chair of Fastrack to IT (FIT), an industry-led skills development initiative enabling greater access to employment for marginalised job seekers. Liam holds a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from DIT Kevin Street and Trinity College Dublin. In 2022 he was awarded an Irish Management Institute Life Fellowship for raising the standard of management and leadership practice along with his advocacy in driving workplace inclusivity and diversity, increasing awareness of autism in the workplace and promoting accessibility and inclusion for autistic employees.
