LULITMI is an intensive, Problem Based Learning (PBL) exercise carried out as a collaboration between first year students of public administration in UL (BA Arts, Criminal Justice, Law Plus and Journalism & Digital Communication). This is the fifth LULITMI Marketplace event.
During the marketplace of ideas, students, working in groups, play the role of democracy and administration innovators. These innovators have been tasked to explore ways of governing LULITMI, a country which emerged from many years of colonisation. The citizens now need the innovators to research and assess different ways to manage the nation’s affairs in this new and strange 21st century.
In response to questions/tasks posed by the interim LULITMI Administrative Council (LULITMI), our democracy innovators will host the marketplace of ideas so that they can share and persuade people about the best ways of managing the new nation’s business. For this year’s event, all the issues being considered by the innovators have been based on / linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This Problem-Based Learning (PBL) exercise is designed to provide an authentic and ‘real world’ connected platform for student learning in the field of public administration, politics and sustainable development and hopefully introduces students to many of the graduate attributes promoted by UL.
It would be greatly enriched by the collective involvement of the UL community. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, April 18th.
