So How Does it Feel to Sing Home?

Singer/songwriter and Irish traditional musician Claire Watts, a fourth year PhD Arts Practice student at the Irish World Academy, presents her first PhD performance - a suite of 6 composed songs and music. The title of Claire’s research is ‘An Arts Practice Exploration into Place, Space and Identity within Irish Songwriting Practice’. The performance features songs and music old and new, written about various locations in Ireland, created as a response to an exploration into how meaningful connection to place can be expressed through song composition.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
