Performers: Kelsey Schuhle and friends

Kelsey Schuhle invites you to join her as she presents her second PhD performance. Tús Nua focuses on returning to Kelsey’s dance roots. As an Irish dance researcher, Kelsey’s goal is to declutter the dance. She wants to show Irish dance separate from the competitive and commercial Irish dance scenes. She is looking to portray the effectiveness of simplicity through her choreography. Tús Nua will include a variety of pieces, each choreographed around a traditional Irish step dance movement. Kelsey’s performance allows her to return to the roots in which she first began Irish dancing. Having grown as a dancer and choreographer, Kelsey now appreciates a nuanced way in which to perform it. Please come and join Kelsey as she declutters and rediscovers the roots of Irish step dance.
