Few times of the year present as many multicultural opportunities to celebrate and commemorate as December. From harvest to solstice festivals, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Bohdi Day, New Year's Eve and many more, December is also the month when we mark International Human Rights Day and International Migrants Day. Mindful of those who may not be able to share this time with loved ones, the Irish World Academy is delighted to welcome everyone to two special events, featuring guest artists, Los Paddys:
Tuesday, December 6th, Irish World Academy coffee morning (11am-12noon). Please drop into the Academy foyer for some music, dance, and holiday treats. Funds raised will go to Doras, a Limerick based NGO supporting and promoting the rights of all migrants in Ireland.
Monday, December 12th, Irish World Music Café, UL city campus, 11.30-1pm. Throughout the semester, the Irish World Music Cafe has welcomed newcomers to Ireland each Monday from 11.30-1pm. Please join us for our end of semester holiday gathering with music, dance, and cakes of the world!
