Carmel Hannan elected to Young Ireland Academic Advisory panel

Dr. Carmel Hannan, Associate Professor in Sociology, has been elected to the Young Ireland Academic Advisory panel of the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth's Young Ireland Council in recognition of her valuable expertise and knowledge. This panel acts in an advisory capacity to the Young Ireland governance structures. This includes advice on research available on an ad-hoc basis, or presenting to various groups on topics of expertise. Young Ireland is the new policy framework for children and young people aged 0-24. It covers the period from 2023-2028. It is focused on tackling the biggest challenges that affect children and young people in Ireland today, and setting up robust structures so children’s rights are foremost whenever we make decisions affecting the lives of children and young people.
