Dr Laura Cahillane on Newstalk

Dr Laura Cahillane spoke to Kieran Cuddihy on Newstalk Radio’s The Hard Shoulder Wednesday evening to discuss the government’s wording in the Care Referendum.

Dr Cahillane expressed disappointment at the fact that the Government had missed an opportunity to create meaningful reform with the referendum and said that now it is primarily a ‘cosmetic amendment’.

She said there was still value in removing the current out-dated wording but that it is disappointing that the stronger wording recommended by the Citizen’s Assembly was not accepted by Government.
