Dr Laura Cahillane on Today with Claire Byrne

This morning Dr Laura Cahillane spoke to Claire Byrne on her RTE radio programme anticipating the Supreme Court’s judgment in the Article 26 reference case which was delivered later that morning.

Dr Cahillane explained the issues the Supreme Court were looking at in relation to the Judicial Appointments Commission Bill and opined that having attended some of the Supreme Court hearing, the mood music seemed to be towards upholding the bill.

The Supreme did uphold the bill later which means that it will now be passed into law and acquires protection from any future constitutional challenge.
