Limerick Voice Launch and Irish Times Award Named in Honour of Joe Drennan

Final year BA Journalism and Digital Communication students launched the print version of Limerick Voice on campus Thursday, 14 March marking the culmination of their Limerick Voice project which also includes a digital edition. At the event, Joe Drennan was honoured by his classmates and by the announcement that a competition in conjunction with the Irish Times would be named after him. The award honours Joe, a fourth-year student who was tragically killed in October 2023. Joe had been the editor-in-chief of Limerick Voice at the time of his passing. Members of Joe’s family were present for the event and a piece written by his co-editor Molly Cantwell featured in the Irish Times.
