Professor Gautam Gulati contributes to the Joint Committee on Disability at the Oireachtas

Professor Gautam Gulati, Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor at the UL School of Medicine and PhD student at the School of Law/School of Medicine contributed to the Joint Committee on Disability at the Oireachtas on 1st July 2021 discussing "new and emerging congregated settings" in respect of people with psychosocial and intellectual disabilities. He spoke about the over-representation of people with disabilities in prisons, hostels for homeless people and direct provision centres in Ireland and the states obligations under articles 11,13,19 and 28 of the UNCRPD. Gautam is supervised by Prof Shane Kilcommins, Prof Colum Dunne and Dr Alan Cusack.
