REPPP attended the 14th edition of the Illicit Network Workshop in Leiden University in the Netherlands on December 9th and 10th.
The Illicit Networks Workshop (INW) includes the leading scholars and analysts from across the world that share a research interest in the use of network analysis in furthering the understanding of the activities of individuals, groups and organisations engaged in organised crime, gangs, transnational crime, terrorism, economic crime and corruption issues. The INW is designed with the goal of maximising meaningful and on-going knowledge exchange among researchers, policy makers and those involved in policy, programme and practical engagement with illicit networks.
REPPP (Research Evidence into Policy Programmes and Practice) Director Professor Seán Redmond presented ‘That’s Fine in Theory: Practical Challenges in Developing Evidence Informed Interventions for Network Involved Youth’ on day one of the conference. Dr Catherine Naughton presented a poster on The Greentown Project: Twinsight Methodology on behalf of the team.
On day two Alejandro Dinkelberg presented ‘The Dream Team: Combining Social Network Analysis and Expert Insights to Disrupt Irish Criminal Networks’ by Alejandro Dinkelberg, Catherine M. Naughton, Eoin O’Meara-Daly, John Reddy, Sean Redmond and Padraig MacCarron at the session on Police, Police Intelligence and Open Source Intelligence Networks.
