Minister for Justice Helen McEntee talks about the REPPP Greentown programme on RTE's Morning Ireland on Friday 24th May following the introduction of new legislation which makes it an offence for an adult to either force or encourage children to engage in any criminal activity.
The Greentown Programme is a community-based initiative, working with justice and community partners, which aims to reduce the influence of criminal networks on children at risk of involvement and to support children who are already involved in criminal networks to exit.
The new legislation is welcomed as a very positive development in efforts to prevent the grooming of children for the purposes of committing crime.
