Dr Robert Collins gave a guest lecture titled 'Irish America: A Brief History and Why the Relationship Still Matters' on Saturday 1 June. This took place at the Limerick Protestant Young Men's Association Hall in Limerick City as part of the Shannonside History Festival.

Dr Ruán O'Donnell also gave a guest lecture the following day at the People's Museum in Pery Square as part of the same festival.

The weekend's events were co-organised by a PhD graduate of the Department of History, Dr Stephen Griffin, and included a number of alumni from the university as speakers and tour guides.
