The DiCE.Lang – Digital Citizenship Education and Foreign Language Learning – is a transnational European Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership (KA 203) project aiming to strengthen the profile of Digital Citizenship Education vis-à-vis Foreign Language Education.
Specifically, the projects aims and rationale are:
- Strengthen the profile of Digital Citizenship Education (DCE) within the foreign language education context
- Empowering younger citizens to participate actively and responsibly in a digital society and fostering their skills of using digital technologies effectively and critically
- Developing subject-specific solutions to facilitate the implementation and adaptation of DCE principles in foreign language learning and teaching across Europe
DiCE.Lang consortium comprises experts from five institutions: LMU Munich (Germany), University of Limerick (Ireland), Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal), Latvijas Universitate (Riga, Latvia) and Siena Italian Studies (Italy)
On the 2nd of February 2022, the first DiceLang public event was successfully held with the participation of the UL consortium members Dr Liam Murray, Dr Marta Giralt and Dr Silvia Benini. The event saw 83 attendees and 15 panelists diving into what Digital Citizenship Education is while presenting how the DiceLang project will be contributing to the concept implementation in the Foreign Language Learning and Teaching context.
