Dr Emma Dolan (PPA) will launch her book 'Gender and Political Apology - When the Patriarchal State Says "Sorry"', 4pm Thursday 7 April on zoom. 

 Rather than seeing political apologies as ‘empty’ or meaningless, Emma's book argues that they are ambivalent, ‘excitable’ gestures which recognise some victims of conflict-related sexual violence whilst obscuring others. Their ’usefulness’ for the state and for victims is therefore contentious.

Discussants include Tom Bentley (Ritu vij Aberdeen), Catherine Eschle (Strathclyde). Congratulations Emma, and every good wish with the launch.
