A virtual conference on Trauma-informed teaching, hosted by AHSS colleagues, took place this week on Wednesday 14th February.

The conference was the first component of the Erasmus+ Blended intensive programme (BIP) on Trauma-informed teaching led by the UL-AHSS team with Dr Maria Rieder (lead), Dr Angela Farrell, Dr Jane Mulcahy, Dr Darina Slattery and Dr Elaine Walsh. The BIP brings together colleagues from 8 European Universities (Flensburg, Inland Norway, Rennes 2, A Coruña, Thrace, Pafos and Mateja Bela) to develop resources for third-level educators on how to respond to students who may experience trauma and toxic stress symptoms. Three different working groups presented preliminary content and materials at the virtual conference.

The consortium will come to UL in May 2024 for a week-long workshop where the resources will be finalised and presented to the Faculty and Campus community.
