Dr Nita Mishra in her capacity as an educator, scholar on 'development', climate activist, VP of EADI, and DSAI (Irish) representative, was invited to (a) Review scenarios (discussing the implications of the scenarios for planetary health and human wellbeing on the European continent); (b) Explore changes under different scenario assumptions; (c) Analyse potential for disruption of the state of the environment and planetary health; (d) Assess changes to discuss how each of the main changes impact sustainable development in the European continent; and finally to (e) Identify policy interventions through discussions with other high level participants and identifying potential areas for interventions (e.g., policy actions) and critical actors for the European continent. This was a policy level workshop at the European level organised by the UNEP, co-organized and facilitated by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in partnership with the UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Center, and the International Science Council (Paris). We listed proposed interventions (e.g., policy actions) and critical actors for the European continent at the end of the 2 day event. It will ultimately culminate in a Global Report to be published in 2024 and inform deliberations of the Summit of the Future (United Nations) in September 2024. Dr Mishra's participation and continuous engagement at the European and UN level on sustainable development initiatives has the potential of facilitating UL visibility at wider global levels.
