The French Ambassador to Ireland H.E. Vincent Guérend visited UL on Saturday, 10 July as part of the Bastille Day Wild Geese festival. Faculty representatives who met with the Ambassador included Dr Michael Kelly and Professor Joachim Fischer. They discussed research scholarship, collaborations and exchanges with France, including with key partnerships with Lille, Nantes, Rennes 2, Aix, and Strasbourg. UL has over 50 Erasmus partners in France. The Faculty is also part of an innovative programme called Applied Languages Europe which is a joint degree with Aix, UL, Cologne and Ghent.
