About co-op interviews
Being invited for a co-op interview gives you the opportunity to expand on details provided in your CV. It means that your CV has succeeded. Someone is interested in you, and they want to know more! Most employers will conduct their interviews virtually but some will come on campus and some prefer to interview at their own premises.
An interview has been described as "a conversation with a purpose". So you should see yourself as an active participant. Preparation is key!
Your Cooperative Education employability workshops will help you to prepare for interviews and additional support is available through mycareerkit.
How do I know if I have an interview?
You will be notified of interviews by email using your student email account associated with your UL Student ID. Emails can arrive at short notice and from day one of Semester prior to placement. You should monitor your email regularly throughout the day. You may receive more than one interview notification per day. However, every student is required to attend all interviews and accept the first offer of placement received. Results of interviews can be accessed through the student portal once released by the employer and only those offers made through the Cooperative Education & Careers Division are valid.
