The Faculty of Education and Health Sciences was pleased to invite family, friends and colleagues to attend the inaugural lecture Professor Patricia Mannix McNamara in the Jean Monnet Theatre at the University of Limerick on Thursday, 16 May.

The title of Professor Mannix McNamara's lecture is "Rediscovering our educative purpose: Human centred education practice in a rapidly changing world."

Patricia served as Head of the School of Education in the University of Limerick until June 2024. She began her career as a post primary school teacher before completing her PhD in the examination of supervisory relationships from a critical theory perspective. Patricia teaches courses on leadership, teacher professionalism, research methods in Ireland and abroad at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
