Live95 has been participating in the University of Limerick co-op programme for 15 years and in that time we have employed around 30 students from a wide variety of courses.

The programme has been a huge success for us and from our experience for the students as well. Twice a year we are presented with a selection of CVs to choose from and following a short round of interviews, we make our selection. That is often the most difficult part as the students are sometimes of such high a standard that choosing one can be tricky. The media industry has changed dramatically over the last two decades. Having young students as part of our team has helped us keep a better perspective on many of those changes, especially in social media. They’ve brought an energy and youthful outlook to the workforce and without exception have had exemplary professional attitudes and eagerness to learn and progress. In some cases, our co-op students have continued to work with us on a part-time basis as they complete their studies while others have secured full-time positions in our business. Over 15 years, it’s natural that life threw up some unexpected circumstances and on rare occasions, co-op students have suffered life-changing experiences including family tragedies - the co-op office has been a great resource on these occasions and together we were able to support students in a way that allowed them to continue their co-op. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be a partner in the UL co-operative programme and we look forward to continuing the partnership long into the future.
