All curricula are designed.

This purposeful curriculum design means we must make decisions that influence how our curriculum looks, how it is delivered, and how it is assessed.

UL’s Integrated Curriculum Development Framework supports programme teams in making these decisions explicit.

The ICDF is based on four principles which take a holistic, student-centred approach to the design of our curriculum:

The UL Graduate

Principles of Curriculum Design

Pedagogy and the Learning Environment

UL Ambitions and Strengths

Working backwards from the attributes we wish our graduates to achieve, and building on the foundation of UL’s existing excellence in research and education, the ICDF fosters transformative learning through its adherence to key pedagogical and curriculum design principles.
