Workshop Overview
The open sharing of information is becoming an important academic practice. Articles published in prestigious academic journals are often shared openly now through Open License agreements negotiated between Universities and publishers. There is a growing movement towards making content available, freely, thus ensuring enhanced access to high quality information, making information more equitably distributed. Attend Michelle Breen's introduction to Creative Commons licences to learn more about how you can make your work openly accessible, gaining increased profile and recognition for yourself, and contributing useful content back to the online learning community. And know how to recognise a CC (Creative Commons) licenced item online, and know that you ARE allowed to freely use it, and sometimes even adapt it for your own teaching or research. In advance of Michelle's session we invite you to take this short tutorial to introduce you to Creative Commons licences.
