Sharing of open pedagogical practices with technology is at the core of our teaching philosophy. We advocate for open scholarship by engaging in open practice, promoting the use of OER and OEP with teaching staff, and conducting open education research. We led the Learning Resources and Open Access in Higher Education Institutions in Ireland National Forum Focused Research project in collaboration with partners from across the sector, whose results have been disseminated in the International Review of Research in Open and Distributed Learning.
We led a working package for the EU Erasmus+ project Sharing open education practices using technology. and participate in the development of the National Forum’s strategy on open courses and participate in the design and delivery of a number of these.
We have recently contributed to a new National Forum resource on ‘Using Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Educational Practices (OEP) for Teaching and Learning’, which is now available.
